'Cellos, Protools and the Moon

Waxing Gibbous: a lunar phase where the moon appears more than half lighted but less than full. Shifting sunlight casts into relief the landscape and texture of the moon's surface, but parts of the edge remain hazy and dark.

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to work with Alice Purton from Manchester-based ensemble Distractfold (find out more here: http://www.distractfold.co.uk/ ) to create my first ever live interactive piece for cello and electronics. Having just completed my Protools Operator qualification, I felt like using my new skills for this project. Working with an instrument instead of just me and a microphone was definitely out of my comfort zone but it was a great challenge and the concert went very smoothly (no technology mishaps!)
